Privacy Policy

Snap! Screen Translator is designed as a private mobile utility. Normal translation use is centered on local screenshot text recognition, local translation workflows, and store-managed purchase access.

Short version: the app does not require an account and may show free-tier ads. Subscribers do not see ads while their subscription is active.

Local first

Screenshots, recognized text, and translated text are intended to be processed on your device during normal use.

Ad choices

Free-tier ads use consent controls and non-personalized ad requests. Translation data is not sent to the ad SDK for targeting.

If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include so we can respond.

1. Information Processed by the App

Depending on how you use Snap! Screen Translator, the app may process:

  • Screenshots or images you choose to translate.
  • Text recognized from those images.
  • Translated text and layout information used to render the translated preview.
  • Your selected target language, source language mode, appearance setting, shortcut setup state, and offline model choices.
  • Subscription entitlement state provided through Apple or Google store systems so the app can determine access.
  • Ad consent state and limited advertising identifiers or advertising data used by Google Mobile Ads when ads are enabled.

2. Advertising and Tracking

The free tier may show interstitial ads provided through Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform consent tools. We request non-personalized ads and do not send screenshot images, recognized text, translated text, source language, or target language to the ad SDK for ad targeting. The current iOS privacy manifest declares no collected data types and tracking is disabled.

3. How Information Is Used

  • To recognize text in screenshots and images you provide.
  • To translate text and display the translated preview.
  • To remember local preferences such as target language, appearance, and offline model state.
  • To confirm subscription access, restore purchases, or show current access status.
  • To show free-tier ads, honor consent choices, and remove ads for active subscribers.
  • To respond to support requests you send by email.

4. On-Device Processing

Snap is designed around on-device screenshot translation. Screenshots, recognized text, and translated text are intended to remain on your device during normal use unless you choose to share output using system sharing tools or include information in a support email.

5. Local Storage and Retention

The app may store preferences, subscription access state, shortcut setup state, offline model state, and similar operational settings on your device. Offline language models are stored locally until you remove them in the app or remove the app from your device.

Screenshots passed into the translation flow are intended to be retained only as needed to complete the requested translation workflow.

6. Store Purchases and Service Providers

Subscriptions and billing are handled by Apple through the App Store or Google through Google Play. Snap receives purchase or entitlement status needed to unlock access, but we do not receive your store password or payment card details. OCR and translation use device frameworks including Apple Vision and Google ML Kit. Google Translate powers the app's on-device translation results; learn more at translate.google.com.

7. Support Email

If you email support, your email address and the information you include will be used to respond, troubleshoot, and keep a support history related to your request. Avoid sending screenshots or personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.

8. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not require account creation for normal use.
  • We do not send screenshot or translation content to the ad SDK for targeting.

9. Sharing

We may disclose information only when necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, protect users, respond to a request you make, or work with platform providers such as Apple and Google for purchases, app distribution, consent, and advertising.

10. Your Choices

  • Delete screenshots from your device using normal platform controls.
  • Remove downloaded offline models inside the app.
  • Uninstall the app to remove local app data according to platform behavior.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings.
  • Contact support with privacy questions or requests.

11. Children

Snap! Screen Translator is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the effective date above.
