Private by design, fast by gesture

Translate any screen on iPhone or Android.

Snap! Screen Translator turns a screen capture into a readable translated overlay. Use an iPhone shortcut trigger or the Android floating capture button when text on screen needs a quick second language.

Built for the moment when copying text is not enough.

Snap is a focused mobile utility for signs, menus, messages, screenshots, and instructions where preserving the screen layout makes the translation easier to understand.

OCR

On-device text recognition

The app uses on-device text-recognition frameworks to detect text in images you choose or capture.

59

Translate into 59 languages

Choose the target language once, let the source language be detected automatically, and keep common language packs ready for offline use.

Layout

Readable translated preview

Snap places translated text over the original regions, so the result still feels like the screenshot instead of a loose text dump.

Gesture

Designed for quick capture

Launch translation from Action Button, Back Tap, or AssistiveTouch on iPhone, or from the floating capture button on Android.

Offline

Manage local models

Download or remove offline language models from the app, so the translation path is ready when you need it.

Trust

No account wall

The app does not require account creation. The free tier may show interstitial ads at natural breaks; subscribers remove ads while their subscription is active.

A short setup, then a fast translation habit.

The app supports manual screenshot import, an iPhone shortcut workflow, and Android floating capture for moments when you want a translation without switching contexts.

  1. 1 Pick your target language. Snap detects the source language automatically and translates into the language you choose.
  2. 2 Set up quick capture. Connect the shortcut to your preferred iPhone trigger or enable Android floating capture.
  3. 3 Capture and review. Trigger the flow, let Snap recognize the screenshot text, then review the translated overlay.

Privacy posture

Useful screenshot translation should not need an account.

Snap is built as a utility. Translation use is centered on local processing, with purchases managed by the App Store or Google Play.

  • No account is required for normal use.
  • Free-tier ads use consent controls and non-personalized ad requests.
  • Screenshot images, recognized text, and translated text are not sent to the ad SDK for targeting.
  • Screenshot text and translation output are intended to be processed locally unless you choose to share them.
  • On-device translations are powered by Google Translate.
  • Support email only receives the information you decide to send.

Supporter access is managed by the App Store or Google Play.

The app offers optional weekly, monthly, and yearly auto-renewing plans. Eligible accounts may see a store-managed free trial or introductory offer before confirmation. Restore Purchases is available in the app if access does not update automatically.
